Pride of the North

General Information

Welcome the Pride of the North Marching and Athletic Band web site here at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. We are the premier marching organization in the state and one of the most rewarding organizations here at UND.

Membership is open to all students on campus regardless of year or major. In fact, we have members of the band from almost every corner of the United States.

The Pride of the North Bands exist for its members and because of its members. We are the largest University supported group at the University of North Dakota. If you play an instrument or are into color guard, there is a place for you at UND.

The band has its origins in the late 19th Century and has since created a tradition of excellence lasting into the new millennium. Marching in contemporary corps-style, the program stays on the cutting edge of trends in music performances.

Our main focus is to support UND's Fighting Sioux and its National Championship tradition. Whether in Football, Men's and Women's Hockey or Basketball, UND is constantly competing for another title and the Pride is there to lead the way in music and spirit. In the past ten years we have traveled to twelve national championship tournament sites across the country.
