Department of Music

Grand Forks, ND

Process For Applying to External Funding Sources:

1. The College of Arts and Science must review all proposals submitted to an external funding source. Currently (9/2005), John LaDuke is the person who is reviewing proposals. She requires several weeks turn-around time.

2. When you submit your proposal to A&S, you must attach a completed Proposal Transmittal Form. This form requires the signatures of the department chair (get this before you send the form over to John), the dean or executive head of the unit applying and several other parties (Grants & Contracts, Research Development and Compliance and if required, the Institutional Review Board). John will sign for the dean.  The form can be obtained at: www.und.edu/dept/rdc/InternalForms.htm

3. Kathy will read the proposal and return it to you with editing suggestions. Once these changes are made, she will sign and return the Proposal Transmittal Form.

4.  The proposal and Proposal Transmittal Form must next be sent to Grants & Contracts.  Once they have signed the form, send two signed copies of the grant, along with a copy of the Proposal Transmittal Form to Research, Development and Compliance (RDC, formerly ORPD). The office is located in Room 105 Twamley Hall (7-4278 or rdc@mail.und.nodak.edu)

5.  All proposals requesting matching funds from the Division of Research must include a "Matching Funds Request Form" which can be found at: http://www.und.edu/dept/research/docs/MatchingFundsRequestForm.pdf
