24/40 Hour Hazwoper Initial

This course will provide emergency response and spill training through the operations and technicians level as required by OSHA 1910.120 and the proposed 121. Individuals completing the course will be trained to identify, contain, and respond to spills, accidents, and release of hazardous materials in the workplace.

School Age Program

This program specifically introduces children ages 5-12 to the UND campus. The children will also spend time with peers and teachers focusing and studying topics that are centered around themes such as Conservation/Nature, Kids in the Kitchen, Splish/Splash Water fun, The Great Outdoors, Science Discovery, Career Week and more.

Mold Assessment Technician/Consultant Course

2008-05-05 to 2008-05-09

This program will teach you how to determine the location and extent of mold or suspected mold present in a facility. You will be trained to record visual observations and take on-site measurements, including temperature, humidity and moisture levels during an intitial and post-remediation mold assessment; collect samples for mold analysis; and prepare a mold analysis report.

Trenching & Excavations Training

Cave-ins in a trench or excavation pose the greatest risk and are much more likely than other related accidents to result in worker fatalities. With little or no warning, an unsupported, improperly shored or sloped excavation or trench wall can collapse, trapping workers below ground level in seconds. This 4-hr program gives you a well-rounded training and includes information on: Hazard identification; controls; safe work practices; and emergency procedures sloping, shoring & shielding.

Moviemaking Camp for Adults

Learn how to develop plot, character and dialogue in a short screenplay during the first week. During the second week learn what's involved in pre-production, shooting, directing and editing digital movies. Get hands-on experience on Final Cut software in a state of the art editing lab.

Asbestos Inspector / Management Planner Refresher Course

2008-05-14 to 2008-05-14

The asbestos inspector program is a 3-day program that includes lectures, demonstrations, and 4 hours of hands-on training. Completing the program and passing the 50-question exam will make you a USEPA/AHERA-certified inspector. The asbestos management planner program is a 2-day training program. You must be an accredited inspector before you can be accredited as a management planner. The management planner program is required under AHERA for persons who prepare asbestos management plans for schools.

This program focuses on the "what, where, when and how" associated with the identification and control of mold. Attendees can expect to obtain an excellent understanding of mold basics and procedures for testing, management, and mitigation of mold in institutional, commercial and residential structures.

OSHA 10-hour Construction Outreach Training

This 10-hr program provides instruction on construction industry safety and health topics, with emphasis on the most common potential hazards. Program objectives are to provide a basic overview of OSHA's role in prevention and elimination of work-related illnesses and injury and to teach trainees to identify, avoid, control, and prevent common construction hazards.

This program focuses on training lead-based paint abatement contractors and their onsite supervisors in all critical aspects of successfully conducting a lead abatement project. In addition to the techniques of abatement, particular emphasis will be placed on worker protection and safety, and the critical importance of cleanup and waste disposal issues.

Mini-Society Entrepreneurship Summer Camp

2008-05-27 to 2008-06-06

Mini Society Summer Camp is designed to bring youth ages 9-12 and youth leaders together for a hands-on learning experience in entrepreneurship. The project will provide participants with personal learning experiences in the skills and attitudes that define entrepreneurial thinking. They will learn the ability to recognize opportunities overlooked by others, insight and energy to identify and marshal the resources necessary to actualize opportunities, and the self-confidence and drive to initiate those ventures in the face of personal risk.
